CHITRAL: The Nauroze festival or locally called pathak dik was marred by the extended rains in the Lotkoh and Mastuj valleys of Chitral where it is celebrated on 21st March every year to accord welcome to the spring season. Due to the incident of Tuesday night in which five persons perished due to the avalanche in a village of Garam Chashma, the festival was another factor to celebrate the festival with simplicity.
